Version 4 updates discontinued with the release of ESP 5

With the release of ESP 5 updates to Version 4 have discontinued. The last release of Version 4 is V4.11, release 7. If you have this version and encounter a problem that is not addressed below contact ThoughtWorks.

Although support for customers using Version 4 is still available; version 4 users should upgrade to ESP 5. Customers on our support plan may upgrade at no additional cost, unsupported customers must pay a fee to upgrade. Version 4 bugs and corrections

You may have encountered a known problem with a solution. If your system stops with an error message, try looking it up in the error codes and addresses listed below. You can then follow the recommended action to correct the bug.

You may have corrupted data files; if so, you can often repair them using our Repair utility. The Repair utility should already be present on your computer; in the schedule folder. If you would like to walk through the repair with a technical support person, contact us.

If your bug is a big one, we've probably already fixed it in a newer release of the program. If your solution is to install the latest version and you do not have V4.11R7 installed then you may download it from the Download version 4 page.

Making temporary changes to holiday availability. Repaired, update to V4.11

Too many shifts in one day, often due to fixing meetings. Must reduce number of shifts in that day.

Accessing manning charts. Try running Repair.

Bad manning chart availability. Fix them using Repair.

Generating, at point where adding fixed shifts, due to having different job codes and fixed shifts when two stores merged. Repaired, update to V4.11, R7.

Problems with opener/closer on Hours of Operation. Review, and re-enter chart. May be due to merging satellite with main store and having different job codes. Repaired, update to V4.11, R7.

Seems to be associated with employees: Incrementing non-existent job. Caused by blank/corrupted fixed shift information in the fixed shift section, openers/closers, employees, or last weeks shifts. Run Repair.

Initial use of SPOD and job codes not same for both merged stores, so hours of operation chart is damaged. Repaired, update to V4.11, R7.

Pressing F10 to save temporary changes, just after prompt to copy to other sites. Holiday availability causes the problem. Repaired, update to V4.11, R7.

"Impossible schedule number". Use Repair.

Corrupt or missing value on the Fixed shift chart. May not be evident on the screen: print chart using F8 and delete all entries. Run Repair if desired.
